The hotel Alexandria which can be referred to mini-hotels is situated in the very center of St. Petersburg, a few minutes away from the subway station Sennaya Ploshchad. Currently, the Sennaya Ploshchad (Square) not totally, but in many respects, has lost its appearance of the middle of the XIX century, but is still one of the noisiest and crowded places of St. Petersburg, the city’s core, so to say. The great quantity of multifunctional shopping centers and a huge modern shopping complex right at the Metro station meet the requirements and can satisfy any wishes - both of the residents, and guests of the city.
One of the largest avenues of the city - Moskovsky Avenue - begins from the Sennaya Square. It is very important for a tourist to find a quick and reliable rout which can bring him to all the key places of the city, and the location of the hotel lets him do it. The hotel itself is situated in Spasskiy Lane which is rather quiet in comparison with the overcrowded square. By the way, some words should be said about the lane reminding of rather tragic events of the Soviet epoch. It was called so in honor of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Church (more often called the Saviour on Sennaya) situated in the place of the exit-pavilion of the subway station Sennaya Ploshchad. In 1965 this unique building which presented the architectural center of the square was blown up.
The hotel is situated on the third floor of a five-storey building, it is guarded round-the-clock, has a video-surveillance system and a parking lot. The hotel rooms are refurbished according to the latest technologies. There are only seven hotel rooms, but they are very cozy and attract guests by the silence and quietness in there. Indeed, is it possible to relax in a huge hotel with hundreds of guests the same way as in the pacifying atmosphere of a mini-hotel intended for a few guests?

The interior of the hotel was thoroughly elaborated by the designers: gussied up in warm colors, it creates a pleasant atmosphere for rest and natural one for work. Guests can breakfast in a small cozy café with a homelike atmosphere. In the daytime the café turns into a hall for conferences and can seat 15. There is a wide range of services: registration, excursions with professional guides, reservation of theatre tickets, business-services (fax, computer, printer, etc.), and also laundry and room decoration.
Tourists can be received at any time there, and the hospitable personnel will never disappoint you. Tourists who know Russian classical prose will be glad to learn that the district of the Sennaya Square is the most "populated" one by characters of F. M. Dostoevsky’s novels (as is well known Dostoevsky is extremely popular not only in Russia, but in European countries).
Unfortunately, the buildings of the Sennaya Square that were situated there in the epoch of the Russian writer and his characters have not escaped destruction. Anyway, characters of Dostoevsky and the writer himself walked over the square and the adjacent streets, and thought, and suffered there. And Raskolnikov, the most famous of the Dostoevsky’s characters, was settled by the writer at the intersection of Stolyarny Lane and Grazhdanskaya Street, in the house No 19/5. Therefore, the Sennaya Square is associated not only with the city fuss, but also with the book characters which regardless of the time roam over the embankment of the Griboedov Canal, the Lion Bridge, the Fonarny Lane...
